Net Lights

These 180 count LED net lights were from Deals Direct. The overall construction looks a bit light weight, so I’m not sure if these net lights would last more than a couple of seasons.

Each series string is 9 LEDs, so there are 20 of those strings in parallel (10 per channel). This means each LED should be passing 20mA assuming all other things are equal.

It does look like you could split them into 4 channels with a bit of work. This would involve breaking into the LED connections at the “top side” (same long side as power input) and running new wires. Doable, but fiddly I’d say.

For the white LED set, I added a 51 Ohm 0.6W resistor in series with each of the channel wires. These values gave me approx 70mA current draw per channel from 31V DC.

For the multicolour LED set, I added three 15 Ohm 0.6W resistors (to get me 45 Ohms 1.8W) in series with each of the channel wires. These values gave me approx 120mA current draw per channel from 31V DC.
